Parent Leadership

The United Way of West Central Connecticut, in partnership with the Connecticut Commission on Children, University of Connecticut and the CT Center for School Change has received funding to offer the Parent Leadership Initiatives; including the Parents SEE Program and People Empowering People (PEP) in Plymouth. All interested parents, grandparents, and guardians, are invited to participate in these exciting FREE parent engagement, civic leadership opportunities. If you are interested in becoming part of a statewide initiative of parent leaders, and have a desire to impact your community and your child’s education, we invite you to learn more about PEP or Parents SEE: 

People Empowering People (PEP)  is a free 10 week program with a strong community focus encouraging growth in communication and problem solving skills, parent/family relationships and community involvement. Parents Supporting Education Excellence (Parents SEE)is a free 12 week, parent leadership program for those who want to increase involvement and understanding of the educational experience of our children and how best to advocate and support their success. Parents SEE will be offered in Plymouth. Please contact Donna Koser, Parents SEE Coordinator at[email protected] or via phone at (860) 314-2763. 

Parents SEE begins on Monday, October 5th. Free dinner and limited on-site childcare available.
