Smarter Balanced Testing Resources

In the spring of 2015, Connecticut began using the Smarter Balanced Assessment (SBAC) as the state assessment for English Language Arts (ELA) and Math for students in grades 3-8 and 11. In the spring of 2016, the Smarter Balanced Assessment will continue to be used in grades 3-8, and the revised SAT will be used in grade 11. In science, the Connecticut Mastery Test (CMT) will continue to be used in grades 5, 8, and 10 to measure science achievement.

In Plymouth, we use state standardized assessments as one measure of student achievement. Such assessments help us to examine: how we perform compared to other districts in the state, student performance in relation to other student indicators of performance, strengths and weakness of our curriculum and instruction, and achievement gaps. We use state assessments along with other data to make informed decisions during our district and school improvement planning.

All parents receive their children's score reports in the fall.
