Data Privacy

Plymouth Public Schools is committed to the protection and privacy of staff and student information. The Plymouth Public School District implements and utilizes technology that engages student's and ensures a safe educational experience. Plymouth Public Schools complies with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). Please visit the U.S. Department of Education's FERPA webpage for more information.

Effective October 1, 2016, all new student data related service contracts must comply with CT State law, 
CT PA16-189.

UPDATE: The effective date for PA 16-189 has been extended to July 1, 2018. As in the past, we will continue to monitor vendor practices in regards to student data privacy. New software vendors will be reviewed, including whether or not the have signed the digital Student Data Privacy Pledge. For those companies that are not a signatory, we will encourage them to sign the digital Student Data Privacy Pledge. Effective 7/1/2018, all new software vendors will be required to be in compliance with PA 16-189.
